This rock, located at the base of the caldera wall, is over 350 million years old. It was exposed by the eruption that created Toba Caldera 74,000 years ago.
I have seen T-Rex fossils in museums. Dinosaurs are said to have lived 230 and 65 million years ago, so this rock is older by 100 million years!
Another way nature reminded me of our insignificance in time and space.
