Yudai Tadaki (Director)

Yudai was born in Tokyo, Japan and raised in Iowa, USA. After graduating from the University of Iowa with a degree in Chemical Engineering, he returned to Japan and joined an international industrial/medical gas company, working to reduce the environmental impacts of many chemical manufacturing processes, writing several patents in the process.

Following the Great East Japan Earthquake, he spent one year managing disaster recovery efforts in Ishinomaki City, and other affected areas. After that, he spend two years as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer, despatched to Sri Lanka in the water supply and wastewater development sector.

At the end of his deployment, he returned to Japan and joined an engineering consulting firm where he worked on international water and wastewater development assistance programs around the world.

Hoping to make a more direct contribution to environmental protection and community development, he started NPO Earthwise Consulting with his wife in the spring of 2019.
